Demographics

Toquerville is essentially a residential community. The only thing available for purchase to the general public on a typical day is postage stamps and other Postal Service merchandise in the Post Office. The residents are predominately Mormon (LDS) and the Town is divided into two LDS wards. The population has seen a shift over the past ten years from a population of aging adults to a large number of young and growing families. Young and old seem to value education, music, and community. Most of the adults commute to work in Washington County towns. Many families have ties to the original pioneer families who settled the area and others have come because they value the benefits of belonging to a small, close knit community.
