RE:
Town Hall
Our new Veteran’s Memorial included costs of the granite, installation, and street side imprinting of names, provided by the Wayne Olds family. They also prepared the east side of the granite with the header to add additional names of which we are very grateful. The engraving of new names was estimated at $25 each; due
to the request of service information, the cost went to $35 at completion, leaving the City a balance of $463.
We are very proud to have collected $1,287 from citizens who have names on the Monument; including
donations from those without names.
Our beautiful new fiberglass Nativity display costs were $3,398.20 – after many years of using a deteriorated
and donated display, our decorating Committee acquired this wonderful addition to the Town Hall Lighting collection. We have heard many appreciative comments from our families who came to experience our
Outdoor Lighting Ceremony this past December. Our cost collections have only reached $1,530 towards the monies spent; our goal is to collect another $1,800.
There are so many of our citizenry who have volunteered to help us with their labor and monies when we are
in need; the City is very grateful for their dedication and service; we would also be most grateful for any size donation given for these City projects.
Sincerely,

The 2006 Miss Toquerville Pageant was Friday, March 31st, at Hurricane High School. The theme for this year’s pageant was “Under the Sea,” complete with bubbles cascading from the ceiling, bobbing fish and hundreds of ocean colored balloons. Jeff Manwaring was the able and entertaining Master of Ceremonies. There were 9 contestants: Samantha Canfield, Chloe Tuttle, Kihara McBride, Clarissa Chamberlain, LeNae Lichfield, Nicole Greenwall, Amelia McCombs, Chantelle Whiting, LeAira Bate. The new royalty consists of Clarissa Chamberlain, Princess, daughter of Lynn and Kay Chamberlain; LeAira Bate, 1st attendant; daughter of Maryann and the late Larry Bate, Chantelle Whiting, 2nd attendant, daughter of Angela and Zane Whiting; and Chloe Tuttle as Miss Congeniality, daughter of Heather and Tom Tuttle. Best Interview, best Community Service Project, and best Talent awards all went to Clarissa Chamberlain. Other awards went to LeAira Bate for Poise and appearance, best Introduction number went to Chloe Tuttle, with best on-stage question going to Amelia McCombs. The directors award went to Nicole Greenwall, and most photogenic award given to Samantha Canfield. Toquerville royalty for 2005 were Caitlin Heideman, Miss Toquerville; Chantelle Whiting, 1st Attendant; Austin Tuttle, 2nd attendant; and Nicki Jeppson, Miss Congeniality.
Special thanks to Carylee Heideman, Kim Pope, and their committee for presenting such an entertaining pageant, all the businesses who donated to the pageant; and Mayor Powell and the City of Toquerville for all of their support.
Royalty will have the opportunity to represent the city throughout the year. They will help with community events, decorate a princess float and help set up for the Washington
County Parade. They will also help prepare and stage the next pageant.
